Description

This module explores providing support for people on the autism spectrum and their families. Learners will discover the experiences of families, consider common difficulties and acquire effective approaches for support. 

Objectives

  • Recognise the experiences of families that include members on the autism spectrum
  • Identify the support needs of families that include members on the autism spectrum
  • Respond to the changing support needs of families that include members on the autism spectrum throughout their lives
  • CPD Accreditation: learners will receive a certificate of completion which can be used as verifiable documentary evidence when submitting CPD recording forms.

1. learning.autism.org.uk is operated for and on behalf of The National Autistic Society (also referred to as "us" or "we").

 

2. These terms and conditions relate to all matters pertaining to access and use of resources and materials hosted on the Learning Management System located at learning.autism.org.uk hereinafter known as "the LMS".

 

3. Any person or organisation accessing or using the LMS by way of being an account holder is hereinafter known as "the customer" or "you".

 

4. By creating an account on the LMS and purchasing the use of specific materials you are accepting these terms and conditions and this constitutes the contract between The National Autistic Society and you.

 

5. In any matter of dispute, you agree that The National Autistic Society is the final arbiter.

 

6. All resources and materials made available through access or use of the LMS are the property of The National Autistic Society by whom all local and international rights are owned and reserved.

 

7. You agree not to breach the intellectual property rights, in any way, relating to the resources made available through the LMS.

 

8. You acknowledge and agree that copyright and all other intellectual property rights in the materials shall remain vested in us and you will not acquire any title copyright or other proprietary rights in such materials.

 

9. You understand that material presented in good faith by us is intended to promote best known practice but that it is the responsibility of the customer to make its own judgement as to the use of any material presented.

 

10. No video, flash or other material made available on the LMS by us maybe downloaded, copied, saved, duplicated, stored, archived, held and or used in any way other than as intended. To do so is a breach of copyright, and it is our policy to pursue all such breaches. For clarity however, any PDF documents may be printed.

 

11. Access to the on sale materials made available on the LMS is only through appropriately paid for formats. To do otherwise, in any way, is an infringement of our rights.

 

12. Each individual purchase permits one user to make use of the material. If access is required for more than one user, multiple purchases of each product is required for the appropriate number of users.

 

13. For bulk purchases, discounts will only be applied if paying following issue of a tailored invoice. Anyone purchasing directly on the LMS will require to pay the full price unless they have access to a coupon or discount code, no matter of volume.

 

14. For customers paying following issue of a tailored invoice, access will only be granted with evidence of payment cleared in The National Autistic Society account.

 

15. Accepting these terms and conditions means you accept that no refund, credit or similar will be made by or on behalf of The National Autistic Society for any reason whatsoever after payment has been authorised electronically or cleared if not paid electronically.

 

16. You acknowledge that you are responsible for ensuring you have the technical requirements and computer literacy to make use of materials purchased. We are in no way responsible for any matters that arise from this point.

 

17. The LMS is managed on our behalf by LearnUpon They provide basic assistance to National Autistic Society. You should contact National Autistic Society if you need assistance or wish to discuss the content or the provision of the service.

 

18. From date of first use, you will have six months access to the learning materials. The NAS reserves the right to delete or suspend user accounts if NAS learning content has not been accessed within that period.

 

19. The NAS have the right to remove accounts that have been in-active for 12 months, we will do this periodically. Once an account has been removed details of course access, assessment scores and any other data is non-recoverable. It is therefore your responsibility to ensure you are active within this 12 month period if you wish to retain your account. It is your responsibility to ensure all certificates are downloaded and saved for your future reference. Due to data legislation we are not allowed to maintain these details on your behalf.

 

20. The National Autistic Society reserves the right to alter these terms and conditions from time to time to ensure we provide the best possible service and protect our rights. The most up to date terms and conditions can always be found on our website at learning.autism.org.uk and any use of the website after an alteration has been posted thereon will be deemed your acceptance of the terms and conditions as varied.
